Epic On-campus Events

Currently there are few JCRC-organised on-campus evening events. With the support of students, I plan to setup a regular “night in” event at the Glasshouse with Langwith to spice up your weekend at a cheap campus venue. This will improve college spirit, campus cohesion and help remove the image of a boring Hes East.

Tons of Bar-crawls & Trips Abroad

Last year, there were nights out to Newcastle and Leeds plus a weekend trip to Amsterdam. These events were sell-outs and I believe there is a huge demand for events to other cities such as Manchester and Berlin. If voted in, I plan to use the feedback system (see “Incentivised Feedback”) to ensure trips are to places you want to visit (in England or otherwise!)

About me

Hi everyone, I'm Saul Rennison, a candidate for the role of Vice Chair for Services in Goodricke's JCRC elections. As I have already spent nearly a year on the committee and worked closely with the current VC for Services, I feel that I possess the qualities necessary to excel in this role. I am confident, organised, a strong leader and cope well under stress and pressure. I plan to build on last year's great events and take advantage of the large profit made from Freshers' Week to provide Goodricke with its most exciting year yet.

In addition to the key policies at the top of the page, I also pledge to:

  1. Improve our online presence by completely redesigning our website with tighter social media integration and updated content to keep our site active and attractive to prospective students.
  2. Work closely with the social & ENTs officers throughout the year to organise larger and more frequent events on-campus, nationwide and abroad.
  3. Encourage all students of Goodricke to speak-out on their suggestions to improve our college. Whether that be telling us that we're doing something wrong, or that you want a weekend trip to Berlin.

If you want to be proud to be a member of the most exciting college at York University, you “Better Vote Saul!”
